Wow, the cold front came through a short time ago. We got maybe enough rain to get the sidewalks wet and the temperature fell to 86 degrees. Tomorrow yep we are back to 100 and then the upper 90's for the rest of the weekend. For those of us old enough to remember when there was no air conditioning, then woohoo a window air conditioner for maybe one room of the house, we are so happy to embrace central air.
I have heard they predicted above average temperatures until at least October, we will see if they are right. My worry is that gas prices have risen, they say food prices will be rising due to the dry conditions and heaven only knows what kind of electric bills we will be receiving soon. Where do normal everyday people get the extra money to pay all of this?
Ah well on to better news. My sister, my son, my nephew and his wife are headed for the lake this weekend. We will have a great time even if it is hot.
I hope eveyone has a great and safe weekend.

What to do this weekend?????
Yes, the weather man says it is going to stay nice and toasty here at the lake for the coming weekend.
Today is the coolest day forecasted out of the next 10. Today's high is suppose to be a nice cool 95 degrees. Saturday and Sunday are both going to be over that 100 degree mark again, with little to no chance of rain. Only real chance of rain in the forecast is a week from now and only a 30 percent chance at that. So besides enjoying (ha ha) the weather, what is going on this weekend?
On Saturday July 21st you can partake in AquaPalooza-the world's largest on water party.
It is from noon until 6pm at Dog Days Bar and Grill in Osage Beach.
Boaters are welcome to join the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association as they host the "world's largest boat party" with entertainment and events. You can enjoy a great day of boating, coving out, jamming tunes and togetherness with family and friends. For info go to
www.aquapalooza.com or call 573-365-5382. Live music all afternoon and it's free!!!!!!!!!
Also on Saturday July 21 at 8:30pm you can go to Ha Ha Tonka State Park for the Night Hike.
So everybody have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back from vacation.
So today is the first day back at work from vacation. We have a timeshare at the Beacons Resort in Minocqua, Wisconsin. When I say we have a time share I should also mention that my brother and sister also have units as do my aunt and uncle and two cousins. The week is spent fishing, having fun with relatives and lots of eating. At our evening meals we all get together and eat basically buffet style, with all kinds of goodies available. A few of the nights last week we had close to 30 people, and we still didn't run out of food.
The trip from Camdenton, MO to Minocqua, WI is approximately 720 miles. On the way up we broke it into a two day trip, staying at my brother's in Iowa on Friday night. We also took a little detour thru the Wisconsin Dells on the way up. The trip home we did in one day and stopped in Marion, IA along the way to drop off our son Bret. From there he still had a 2 1/2 hour drive home and we had 6 hours. Once we got into Missouri it rained off and on until we were almost home.
It was good to be home, but already thinking ahead to next years trip, what to take and what not to etc. Well back to work, and be looking for my post later this week on events happening here at the Lake of the Ozarks this coming weekend.
